Consent and Cookies: A Social Justice Purim

Repair the World, Hillel’s Grad Network, Philly FIGHT, and WOAR invite you to a social justice Purim, focusing on the topic of consent. There will be many different activities and speakers, including a hands-on volunteering project, so come join in the festivities! (Food and drinks provided.)
Early Childhood Megillah Experience and Purim Carnival

Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel, 300 S. 18th Street
Games! Face Painting! Moon Bounce! Prizes! Raffle! Food! We will first come together in the Sanctuary, at 10:00 AM where we will read the Purim Story as a community. Following the Megillah experience we will have fun at the Purim Carnival! Please bring a noisy, boxed non- perishable food item to use as your grogger. We will donate these food items to a local food bank. $35/family.

Mikveh Israel Purim Celebration

Join Congregation Mikveh Israel Association Purim Celebration. Minha and Arbit, 5:15 and 6:00 PM., Children’s puppet show from 5:45 to 6:15 PM., the reading of the Megillah at 6:15 P.M. and the Purim party at 7:00 P.M. Come and enjoy a delicious supper, fun games, wonderful raffle gifts, and prizes for the best costume! $12 per person; $36 per family. Purim at BZBI

It’s not a mystery that Purim is one of the most fun holidays of the year! This year’s theme for Purim is “Clue.” We’ll have a seudah for families and a festive megillah reading. Afterwards, we’ll get down to solving a Clue game together. While kids are welcome as detectives, we will also have childcare available after the megillah reading. 5:30 PM: Family Seudah and costume contest. Register here. 6:30 PM: Megillah reading and fun activities for the rest of the night. Please bring a noisy, boxed, non-perishable food item (such as rice or pasta) to use as a grogger during the Megillah readings. These will be donated to a local food bank after Purim. Double down on your mitzvot–during Purim we will be collecting donations for the New Sanctuary Movement!

Gather in the Community Room before the Megillah Reading for pizza, salads, desserts, and beer brewed by our very own BrewRS. RSVP in advance for dinner, & sign-up to bring a potluck item. A Megillah Reading with Berkman Mercaz Limud/Confirmation Academy (religious school) students and adult readers will be held following the light dinner. Dress in your 80’s best for a totally cool Purim Spiel called “The Totally Rad ‘80s Spiel.” Join in multiple mitzvah opportunities at the celebration as well.
Purim with Minyan Tikvah

First we will daven Ma’ariv and read the megillah (megillah to start around 6:30). Afterwards we will enjoy a delicious kosher catered dinner, with ~~karaoke~~ available for those who want to sing! Adults and kids are welcome, and costumes are highly encouraged. $5 to $10 optional donation per person to help pay for the food. During dinner we will collect money for those donations, as well as for Matanot l’Evyonim (the mitzvah to give to the poor on Purim), to be given to Project Home on Purim day.
